English Pancakes Recipe is a traditional breakfast of Scotland and english celebration before the confessions and fasting of Prince William and Catherine Middleton wedding.
Ingredients:
Sugar
2 eggs
2oz/50g butter
Pinch of salt
Lemon juice
4-oz/110g plain flour
7-fl oz/200ml milk mixed with 3fl oz/75ml water
Method:
Sift your flour into a bowl. Keep the sieve high so air gets in the flour.
Throw in a pinch of salt. Now break the eggs over the flour and begin to mix them together. Use a fork first to get them all mixed together.
Now slowly add the milk-water mixture little by little. As the mixture becomes more liquid you can use a whisk instead. Keep adding the mixture bit by bit until the mixture is smooth like thin cream.
Heat up a frying pan and use a little butter to lubricate the pan. When the butter has melted and you’ve tipped it all around the pan pour in some pancake mixture into the pan. The thickness is up to you.
Tip: use the first pancake as a test. If you think it’s too thick add more water-milk to the mixture.
Let the pancake cook slowly. Use a spatula around the edge to lift it slightly from the pan as it cooks. Now, some good wrist action is going to be helpful for you.
Once the pancake is moving freely in the pan, flip it over. If you’re scared of sticking the pancake to the ceiling or throwing it across the kitchen then use a spatula. However, the most fun part of pancakes is the flipping.
Serve the pancake immediately. Squirt lemon juice over the pancake and sprinkle liberal amounts of sugar.
Roll the pancake up and squirt more lemon juice and sprinkle more sugar over the top and serve. Eat hot but don’t burn yourselves now.
