The italian beef short ribs recipe prep time: 10 minutes start to finish: 2 hours 40 minutes 6 servings

4 lb beef short ribs, cut into rib sections
2 medium onions, cut into
1-inch wedges (2 cups)
1 package (8 oz) fresh whole mushrooms, cut in half
1 jar (14 oz) tomato pasta sauce (any variety)

1 Heat oven to 350°F. Place ribs and onions in ungreased 13×9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish. Cover and bake 1 hour. Drain and discard fat.

2 Add mushrooms to ribs and onions in dish. Pour pasta sauce over all.

3 Cover tightly with foil and bake about 1 hour 30 minutes longer or until ribs are tender. If desired, skim off and discard any excess fat from top.

Notes and Tips:
Spoon the ribs and tomato-mushroom sauce over hot cooked pasta. A crisp Caesar salad complements the flavors of this short rib meal.
