Balti Chicken

Balti Chicken is a succulent Indian dish based on chicken, tomatoes and spices. recipe.

Ingredients 
vegetable oil 6 tablespoons
onion I, chopped
turmeric 1/2 teaspoon
ground coriander I teaspoon
ground cumin I teaspoon
chili powder I teaspoon
water 2 tablespoons
boneless, skinless chicken 750 g ( 1 1/2  Ib),
cubed
tomatoes I kg (2 lb). chopped
green pepper I large, cut into squares
garlic cloves 4—6, chopped
fresh green chiles 2, chopped
salt
Indian breads, such as parathas or
chapatis to serve

Method 
Heat the oil ¡n a hot bafti pan or wok and fry the onion until soft. Mix the turmeric, ground coriander, cumin and chili powder in a small bowl with the water. 

Stir into the softened onion and cook until the liquid has dried up — about 3—4 minutes.

Add the chicken and brown, then stir in the tomatoes and salt. Cover and cook over a moderate heat for IS minutes.

Stir in the green pepper. garlic and chiles and cook, uncovered, until the tomato juices have evaporated and the chicken is cooked through.

Serve with Indian breads, such as parathas or chapatis.
