How to make Garlic Pepper Scallops with Broccoli
Prep time: 5 minutes | Cook time: 15 minutes| Serves 4
1 pound raw jumbo sea scallops
1 tablespoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
⅛ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 cups chopped broccoli florets
¼ cup water

1.Blot
the scallops dry with a paper towel.
2.In
a small bowl, mix the garlic powder, pepper, and salt and set aside.
3.Coat
a large skillet with the oil and heat over medium-high heat.
4.One
at a time, lightly dab each scallop with the spice mixture on both
flat sides. Place the scallop in the
skillet. Repeat with remaining scallops.
5.Cook
the scallops for 2 minutes on each side. Remove the scallops to a plate and set aside.
6.Lower
the heat to medium and place the broccoli in the skillet. Add the water, cover, and steam for 3 to 5
minutes, or until the broccoli is tender. Drain the broccoli and sprinkle with
salt and pepper to taste.
7.Serve
the scallops over the broccoli.
