The Aunt B’s Sloppy Joes Recipe For a quick & easy meal, ladle leftovers over cooked rotini pasta.
Ingredients:
3 lbs. ground turkey
1 c. onion, chopped
1 c. green pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1-1/2 c. catsup
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. mustard
1/4 c. cider vinegar
1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
1 T. chili powder
10 whole-wheat hamburger buns, split
Method:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground turkey, onion, pepper and garlic until browned and tender; drain.
Combine in a slow cooker with remaining ingredients except buns. Cover and cook on low setting for 6 to 8 hours, or on high setting for 3 to 4 hours. Spoon onto buns. Makes 10 sandwiches.
