Ingredients 

40 seedless red or green grapes, rinsed and patted dry

20 brightly colored fruit leather rolls

Black decorating gel

20 red hot candies

Method 

1. Working one piece at a time, unwrap a piece of fruit leather and place on a clean work surface.

2. Arrange 2 grapes, end to end lengthwise, about 1 inch from one of the corners. 

3. Fold the nearest point over the grape, and wrap the two sides over. At the other end of second grape, pinch the fruit leather together at the base of the grape to make a tail.

4. Place on waxed paper-lined plate and repeat until all are assembled. Shape tails to fan out.

5. Using the gel, place a fairly large dot on each fish to form the base for eye.

6. Place a red hot candy on gel. Loosely cover with plastic wrap and store in a cool dry area until time of serving. Makes 20 fish

Notes and Tips

for a variation, use mini candy coated plain chocolate candy pieces instead of red hot candies for fish eyes.
