Down Home Pea Soup

The Down Home Pea Soup Recipe Our parents made this soup often. It is delicious year ’round, but is especially warming on winter days.

Makes 8 to 10 servings.

Ingredients:
8 c. water
2 c. dried split peas
1-1/2 c. celery, sliced
1-1/2 c. carrots, peeled and sliced
1 onion, sliced
2 bay leaves
salt and pepper to taste
1 to 2 c. cooked ham, cubed

Method:
Combine all ingredients in a slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours. Discard bay leaves before serving.
