Maple Meltaways

The Maple Meltaways Recipe Nice and buttery, kind of like shortbread. I ran out of pecan halves, so I finished up dipping the tops into pecan pieces, and it worked just as well. Next time I might try rolling them in pecan meal. Very easy to make.

Serve: 24

Ingredients:
1 cup butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup white sugar
2/3 cup pecan halves
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons maple flavored extract

Method:
Measure ingredients into large bowl. Mix on low speed until blended, then medium speed until light and fluffy.

Roll dough into 1 inch round balls, then place a pecan half on top of ball gently. Bake at 350 degrees F (180 degrees C) on ungreased cookie sheet for 12 minutes.

Cool slightly on cookie sheet.
