Chinese Pork with Broccoli Recipe is more often associated with beef, this pork recipe is just delicious. I say "Thai Style" because the recipe originated from a lady in Ohio, but the ingredients and methods are proper for a Thai dish in the Chinese style.
Ingredients:
1.6 kg (3 1/2 lb) Chinese broccoli, cut into short lengths
1 tablespoon peanut oil
2.5 cm (1 inch) piece fresh ginger, julienned
2 cloves garlic, crushed
500 g (1 lb) Chinese barbecue pork, thinly sliced
1/2 cup (60 ml/2 fl oz) chicken or vegetable stock
1/4 cup (60 ml/2 fl oz) oyster sauce
1 tablespoon kecap manis
Method:
Place the broccoli in a steamer over a wok of simmering water and cook for 5 minutes, or until just tender but still crisp.
Drain the wok, dry thoroughly and heat until very hot. Add the oil and swirl to coat.
Add the ginger and garlic and stir-fry for 30 seconds, or until fragrant. Add the broccoli and pork and toss to coat.
Mix together the stock, oyster sauce and kecap manis and add to the wok.
Toss thoroughly until heated through and then serve immediately
