Taco Calzones

Taco Calzones Recipe is a seasoned ground beef is wrapped in pizza crust for a twist on a traditional taco.

Prep: 25 minutes, Bake: 16 minutes, Serves 4

Ingredients:
1/2 pound lean ground beef
2 tablespoons taco seasoning mix
3/4 cup hot water (not boiling)
1 (6.5-ounce) package dry pizza crust mix
5 ounces (11/4 cups) LAND O LAKES Cheddar or Monterey Jack Cheese, shredded
4 teaspoons chopped fresh cilantro
Shredded lettuce
Chopped tomatoes
Sour cream

Method:
1. Heat oven to 375°F.

2. Cook ground beef in 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until beef is browned (5 to 7 minutes). Drain off fat. Stir in 1 tablespoon taco seasoning and 1/4 cup water. Continue cooking 2 to 4 minutes. Remove from heat; keep warm.

3. Combine crust mix, 1/4 cup cheese and remaining 1 tablespoon taco seasoning ¡n small bowl; stir to mix well. Add remaining 1/2 cup hot water; stir until well mixed. Cover; let stand 5 minutes.

4. Divide dough into 4 equal pieces. Roll out each piece of dough on lightly floured surface into a 6-inch circle. Place about 1/3 cup beef mixture on bottom half of each circle of dough to within 1/4 inch of edge.

5. Top each with 1 teaspoon cilantro and 1/4 cup cheese. Fold other half of dough over filling; press edges to seal.

6. Place calzones onto greased baking sheet. Bake for 16 to 20 minutes or until crust is light golden brown. Serve calzones topped with lettuce, chopped tomatoes and sour cream.

Notes and Tips:
Calzones can be prepared and frozen up to 3 months. Thaw in refrigerator for 24 hours. Bake at 375°F. for 20 to 22 minutes.
