Talent Managements Top 5 Hangover Cures

Talent Managements Top 5 Hangover Cures Its that time of the year again, and we at Talent Management have parties to attend, mulled wine to make and Champagne to drink.

Unfortunately, its easy to get caught up in the moment and overindulge, resulting in some unwanted symptoms the next day.

Well dont fret just yet; Talent Management is here to the rescue with out top 5 tips on overcoming that elusive foe otherwise known as the hangover

Prickly Pear Juice

Having been tried and tested by the team here at Talent Management, this miracle juice is believed by many including us - to reduce the effects of hangovers. C-reactive proteins, which are released by the liver to fight inflammation, are proven to be around 40 percent lower when prickly pear juice has been drunk. This suggests that the inflammation caused by alcohol which gives us nausea, a dry mouth, and loss of appetite is lessened. Just remember to take it before you start drinking for the full benefits, a couple of hours before your night out should do it.

Water

Ok, so you may think were stating the obvious here, but the best advice we can give you is not so much how much water to drink, but when to drink it. As soon as you get in from your night out make yourself drink a good pint of water. Every gulp you have now will be worth two in the morning. We also recommend keeping a full glass by the bedside when you hit the sack, this way you can sip it should you wake up during the night dehydrated.

Sleep

There are numerous studies that all show some of the common hangover symptoms are actually related to lack of quality sleep. Granted, lack of sleep is often inextricably linked with drinking too much alcohol, and therefore a hangover, which is why sleep is often overlooked. So if you want to recover from your headache, lethargy and slow responses, then we recommend a long and undisturbed nights rest that means making sure you dont have work the next day or any early morning plans.

The bacon sandwich

Perhaps the tastiest of our cures, the bacon sandwich is a classic recovery breakfast after a heavy nights drinking. This popular bite to eat has actually been scientifically proven to cure a hangover. Its a clever combination of the bread and bacon that does the trick. Scientists from Newcastle University revealed that although bread doesnt soak up alcohol, it increases your metabolism, which will help us all deal with those unwanted symptoms. And bacon, which is high in amino acids, will work to top up your levels of neurotransmitters, which alcohol decreases. Long story short; a good bacon sandwich will leave you with a much clearer head.

NAC Supplement

We dont recommend pills or supplements lightly. In fact, there are certain ones to fully avoid should you have a hangover. Never take Tylenol (acetaminophen), for example, so long as alcohol is still in your blood, as it can cause severe liver damage. And Aspirin upsets the stomach, and so will aggravate a hangover. For a safe bet, try NAC, or N-acetyl-cysteine. Its a supplement that works because it is rich in cysteine, an amino acid that is used by the body in the manufacture of glutathione, which eliminates free radicals. Just trust us on this one, NAC is an invaluable hangover cure.
