Serves 6

Ingredients:
11⁄2 cups apple juice
One 7-ounce package mixed dried fruit
1⁄3 cup packed brown sugar
1⁄2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 pears, cored and chopped
21⁄2 cups milk
1⁄2 teaspoon salt
3 cups quick- cooking oats
Two 6- ounce containers vanilla yogurt
1 cup granola

Method:
1. Combine the juice, dried fruit, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer, covered, for 20 minutes.

2. Add the pears and cook, covered, for 10 minutes. Cool, drain, and discard the cooking liquid. Set aside.

3. Bring 21⁄2 cups water and the milk to a boil in a saucepan; add the salt and oats. Reduce the heat to medium; cook for 1
minute; stir.

4. To serve, spoon the oatmeal into 6 cereal bowls and top each with the fruit mixture, yogurt, and granola.
