Deep-Fried Meatballs with Sweet-Sour Sauce

Ingredients:
Serves 4 to 6
1/2 kilo ground pork
1 teaspoon minced ginger root
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
cooking oil, for deep-frying
To serve
bottled sweet and sour sauce

Method:
In a bowl, mix together all the ingredients except cooking oil.

Form mixture into balls around 1-inch in diameter. In a large frying pan, heat the oil just until it starts smoking.

Lower heat to medium. Deep-fry the meatballs, in small batches, turning frequently, until they rise to the surface.

Drain and cool slightly.

Reheat the oI. Return meatballs to the oil and fry for another minute until crisp.

Drain on paper towels and transfer to a serving platter.

Serve with bottled sweet and sour sauce.
