Sweet Potato Turkey Pie try a fabulous recipe, and instead of using sweet potatoes I used yams. And instead of using ground turkey I used ground beef. It tastes pretty similar to the other way, but I think it's slightly better.
Ingredients
1 can (24 ounces) sweet potatoes, drained
2 tablespoons
margarine, melted
¼ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
Nonstick vegetable
cooking spray
2 cups cubed cooked
turkey (½ to 3/4-InCh cubes)
I can (103/4ounces)
reduced-fat and
reduced-sodium
cream of mushroom soup
1 package (9 ounces)
frozen French-style
green beans,
thawed and drained
1 can (2 ounces)
mushroom stems
and pieces, drained
½ teaspoon each salt and pepper
2 tablespoons crushed
canned French fried
onion rings
1 can (8 ounces)
cranberry sauce
(optional)
Method
1. In methum bowl blend sweet potatoes, margarine and pumpkin pie spice until smooth. Spray 9-inch pie plate with cooking spray. Line pie plate with potato mixture
to form a 1’pie shell” Set aside.
2. In medium bowl combine turkey, soup, beans, mushrooms, salt and pepper. Pour mixture into prepared shell. Sprinkle onions over top.
3. Bake in preheated 350°F oven for 30 minutes or until hot. Serve with cranberry sauce, if desired. Makes 6 servings
