Praline bars

Praline bars is a nice recipe, beautifula nd taste good, serve for you family and friends.

Ingredients
PASTRY CRUST
½ cup vegan butter substitute,
slightly softened but not at
room temperature
½ cup soy cream cheese
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour

PRALINE TOPPING
½ cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 tablespoon blackstrap or
other dark molasses
1 tablespoon vegan
butter substitute, at room
temperature
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped raw or lightly
toasted nuts (pecans, walnuts, almonds, and/or hazelnuts)

Method
To make the crust, combine the vegan butter substitute, soy cream cheese, and sugar in a large bowl and beat with an electric mixer until creamy.

Add the flour and knead with your hands until just combined. Do not overwork the dough or it will be tough.

Cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 48 hours.

To make the topping, combine the sugar, maple syrup, molasses, vegan butter substitute, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl and mix with a wooden spoon until smooth.
Add the nuts and toss until evenly coated.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and oil a 9-inch square baking pan. Press the crust evenly into the pan, forming a ¼-inch ridge up the sides.

Bake for about 25 minutes, or until the dough begins to brown very lightly at the edges.

Spread the topping evenly over the dough, leaving a ¼ -inch margin at the edges.

Bake for about 18 minutes, or until the topping is very bubbly and the edges of the crust are golden. The filling should not be set.

Remove the pan from the oven and let cool completely. When cool, cut into 9 squares. Store tightly covered at room temperature or in the refrigerator (for longer storage).
