Cranberry Apple Chutney

Cranberry Apple Chutney made it for thanksgiving day to rave reviews. Halved recipe and added a bit more water asit was a bit dry. Really easy and tastes yummy.

Ingredients
3/4 cup unsweetened apple juice
1 cup sweet onion, chopped
1 cup sugar substitute*
½ cup packed light
brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground ginger
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1 package (12 ounces)
fresh or frozen
cranberries
1 large Granny Smith
apple. peeled, cut into ½-inch pieces

Method 
1. Combine juice, onion, sugar substitute, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger and cloves in a heavy, medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat and simmer
uncovered 5 minutes.

2. Add cranberries and apple. Return to simmer and cook uncovered 20 minutes or until mixture is very thick, stirring occasionally.

3. Cool to room temperature. Transfer to decorative serving dish or refrigerate until serving.

Makes 20 servings (2 tablespoons per serving) * This recipe was tes ted with sucralose-based sugar substitute.
