Sausage Lasagna

Sausage Lasagna Recipe is classic lasagna recipe is sure to become a family favorite. Serve and crusty bread

Prep: 30 minutes, Bake: 55 minutes, Serves: 12

FOR MEAT SAUCE:
2 (12-ounce) packages pork sausage
1 medium (1/2 cup) onion, chopped
1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (12-ounce) can tomato paste
2 tablespoons dried parsley flakes
1 tablespoon dried basil leaves
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper

FOR FILLING:
2 (12-ounce) cartons (3 cups) small curd cottage cheese
1 egg
2 tablespoons dried parsley flakes
9 lasagna noodles, cooked, drained
8 ounces (2 cups) LAND O LAKESPs Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Method:
1. Heat oven to 350° F. Cook sausage and onion in 10-inch skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until sausage is browned. Drain. Add all remaining meat sauce ingredients.

2. Combine cottage cheese, egg and parsley flakes in medium bowl; mix well.

3. Spread 1 3/4 cups meat mixture into greased 13x9-inch baking pan. Layer with 3 lasagna noodles, 1 cup cottage cheese mixture and 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese.

4. Repeat layers, sprinkling remaining mozzarella cheese on top layer; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

5. Bake for 55 to 65 minutes or until cheese is lightly browned and lasagna is heated through. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

Notes and Tips:
Prepare lasagna as directed above. Cover tightly with aluminum foil; refrigerate up to 2 days or freeze up to 1 month. Thaw in refrigerator at least 24 hours. Bake as directed.
